Was booking your last holiday a stressful experience for you? If so, you’re not alone. According to Hotels.com, 42% of millennials find booking their next holiday one of their most stressful activities.
According to Booking.com, 43% of adults in the US would like to use Virtual Reality to experience destinations before they travel.
Enter TravelVRse, an innovative travel booking platform that utilises Web3 and VR/metaverse technology, aiming to transform the way travellers plan their next adventure.
Onboarding people into Web3 by helping them decide on places to go using VR things… Sounds nounish to me.
Meet TravelVRse
TravelVRse is a groundbreaking platform designed to reinvent the travel booking experience. It allows users to take virtual tours of local areas in stunning 3D, immersing themselves in the sights, sounds, and culture of a destination before visiting. TravelVRse connects the virtual and physical worlds, rewarding travellers who complete tours with redeemable rewards when they actually visit the destination.
TravelVRse was founded after receiving feedback from many partner hotels, and their first tour in San Diego is already lined up. With an MVP under development and plans for a pilot in June 2023, TravelVRse is currently seeking investment.
A Unique Approach
TravelVRse offers a fresh perspective on travel planning, using Web3 technology to enable users to visit a destination without leaving home. The platform provides a travel experience within the metaverse, taking users on a journey through various cities and tours. As Alex, one of the founders, explains, “You will come into a virtual world, you’ll be able to pick a city that you want to go to, then you’ll be able to see a range of tours in that city that you can go with, and there’ll be themed tours.”
Millennials are increasingly moving towards virtual reality and Web3, and hotels, restaurants, and art galleries are eager to invest in platforms like TravelVRse to keep up with the young market. “Hotels and landmarks are paying for this service, that is fully immersive, so you really get to feel what it’s like in that local area, and then for the hotel, they want you to go and stay in the area and stay with them,” says Alex.
Blockchain and Token Rewards
TravelVRse will employ blockchain technology in its token reward system. Virtual travellers who complete challenges within the metaverse will earn tokens that can be redeemed in the real world, such as a complimentary stay at a sponsoring hotel. This inventive approach makes the virtual experience more engaging and drives real-world engagement and bookings.
Availability and Future Plans
The TravelVRse app is available on the Meta store and will soon be available in the Apple store. The first city tour, launching in June, will feature San Diego. Users can expect more destinations to be added as the platform expands, offering an increasingly comprehensive travel planning experience.
Filling the Gap in the Market
There is a significant investment in Web3 within the travel industry as landmarks work to remain relevant to younger audiences. Hotels are purchasing virtual space on metaverse sites, and many landmarks are investing in Digital Twins. However, no metaverse equivalent of TripAdvisor exists, bringing all this together in one site. TravelVRse aims to fill that gap in the market and reinvent how we book our holidays.
TravelVRse is poised to revolutionise the travel booking experience, bridging the gap between the virtual and physical worlds through its immersive platform. By offering virtual tours, token rewards, and connections with hotels
